Why was the thread closed? Mike has a point. He was not being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. You cannot attribute what someone said so-and-so said as evidence. That is heresay, not evidence.

It's like saying: B is the original source. A is a credible source having been in contact with B. So if A says B said X, then X MUST be correct, and by implication, A is correct. On what premise is A credible?

If we ran our justice system like that, then there would be many innocent people on deathrow... oh, wait, we do!

I placed my reasoning in my post -- that the thread had become entirely unconstructive. The topic of the thread shifted entirely away from aikido and into a rather unconstructive (for the sake of the thread topic) argument

If folks wish to discuss the intricacies of citiations, authorities, and evidence, you're quite welcome to do so. Please, though, just do so in the Open Discussions forum.
