Re: "Off-The-Mat" Forum
Last week I used Jo form to shovel snow. Aikido walking to push furniture around and a "joint-relaxation-sequence" form of "floating" to open those darn frozen car doors.
And because I have a swollen L-4 right now, I used stance changes to pick the dishes out of my dishwasher and place them in the cupboard 115 degrees away.

Re: Off the Mat Aikido
I put a rather sneaky nikkyo on a fella who wanted to give me a nipple twister in a pub Well I suppose he is only human and my nips are quite pinchable!
I also did a nifty irimi tenkan to avoid walking into someone carrying a try of coffees last week

Re: Off the Mat Aikido
I trashed a car while J walking once, the whirlwind effect from my turning was so severe, it made the weather charts.
does this count?

Re: Off the Mat Aikido
i open doors using irimi movement, crowded walkways means taisabaki practices. and i try to be aware of my surroundings. i have used forward rolls when i tripped and tenkan to avoid head on collisions

Ha. That's nothing. Why, since I started studying aikido, I realized that I've been using aikido movements all my life! I was even training in the womb! All of my life is aikido. Some of you say that your every moment is a training opportunity and every movement is a training movement -- hah! I get up at 3 in the morning, half an hour before I go to bed, and all day long, even the movements that I don't make are aikido movements! I make my coffee with iriimi! I rake the lawn with tenkan! And when I poop, I poop from my center!!!!!
More aiki than thou, so you might as well give up right now,
