Active Forum Threads

Hi folks,

As I wrote in another thread, I've changed the behavior of the "Active Forum Threads" display on the righthand side of the AikiWeb homepage so that the threads only show up if they have a certain number of messages in them.

What do you think? Should we keep it this way or go back to that section showing all threads regardless of number of messages?

Jun,

I actually never start at the homepage, I go straight to the Forums page (am I the only one?).

I suppose I like shortcuts -- where did you say that corner store was where I can pick up a black belt?

not a very conclusive success so far! Unfortunately the feedback threads tend not to be looked at very regularly!, but thanks for doing the poll.

I think the most recent threads is the way to go, regardless of message numbers. That said, I do tend to be lazy about searching for threads which have recently vanished from the frontpage.

I looked this over and thought to myself, "Gee -- do I want people seeing, basically, the same old thread titles on the front page, day after day?"

I've changed it back to the front page showing every thread with the exception of threads in the Chit Chat section (which won't show up).

As I said before, I use the [View New Posts] link at the top rather than looking at the front page myself...

Hi Jun,

I've always thought "Active" implied recent contribution.
