Excellent instructor.
Great host organization.
Highly recommend.
If I was still in So Cal, I would be there.

Hey, Rich, it was a blast as usual. Thanks for hosting it (and a thanks to Tony for allowing the use of his dojo). You're going to have to start wearing goggles when you train, however...

Hi Guys,

I had a great time seeing everyone and look forward to doing it again.

I'd also like to thank Keith for bringing that beautiful katana for us to admire. A really outstanding piece.

Hey, small worlders: Keith, I'm aiming to see you at the sword show at SF this Sunday afternoon. Toby, still hoping it works for me to catch your Sept. seminar at Aikido of Berkeley.

This Sunday? I'll be in my backyard planting squash and eggplant. The SF Token Kai is in August...

Well, I remember when I first got that piece in I thought of how you guys move with your blades. The balance on it was so nice I thought you'd like it.

But it was my pleasure and the least I could do considering all you've done. Thanks for keeping it alive and sharing it. Now if I could just find a way to be able to afford to properly study yet another art... But for that, I really should talk with Johnny and Rich to see how they feel. I need more hours in each day.

They teach that time dilation thingy, too? Man, I've really gotta get out more ...

LOL! I had it memorized as a Sunday on which I have to pick my mom up at SFO - as it happens she's quite the travelling senior, and I got my SFO trips confused. Plant away, Mr. Larman! I shall find something else to amuse myself w/ en route. this wkend!

Well, he's one of those guys who can move without telegraphing it. That might be moving at "the speed of light". And of course at speed like that time dilation *does* become an issue...

Of course he explained a bit on how he could move quickly. My brain kinda understands what he said. And I can kinda see how to do it. But actually doing it... Good lord I suck...

Forgot that I was going to put an image of the sword we're discussing in the reply.

And Toby, I told you it was 28". It is actually 29". The fact that it was forged as a tachi with deeper curvature makes it feel shorter than it is. Another one of those subtle things about well forged and shaped swords.

Keith,

If I had a spare 15-18k hanging around, I know exactly how I'd spend it. That sword would be mounted and in my dojo.

Doesn't everyone?

Frankly I wish I did myself... I just like how it feels. I even know what fittings I'd use, the wrap, etc...
