Hola hermanos:
I am a student of Iwama´s style. I hope learnt with everybody in this forum, excuse my poor english, but I can´t spend my time learning inglish... I need it for study Aikido...

Asking a swedish if there is iwama style aikido there is like asking a irish if they drink beer in Eire
Sweden is probably the place with more iwama style dojos in Europe.

Please, what is the reason of the Iwama´s"popularity" in your country?.

Aikido started i Sweden in the late sixties. Then Saito sensei send one off his students Tomita sensei and Tomita started teaching Iwama stile. In 1969 open Göteborgs aikidoklubb http://www.goteborgs-aikidoklubb.org/ that now leads Ulf Evenås sensei. But back then even Zeth Moberg, John Patrik Johnsen, Pia Moberg and Jan Bratt were part off the same club but now they have there own clubs here in Gothenburg. Lars Göran (Lasse) Anderson was also the one that started the club, but now he moved to northern Sweden and open there another dojo. Then the students off these people started another dojos in other parts in Sweden. So that´s the short story
