Cool hello from sunny southwest....

Hi! First off, this is a really great site. I love the forums and discussions and the polls.

My name's Jennifer, i'm 22, and I've been practicing Aikido for a little over a year, in Taos New Mexico. My brother Dillon was interested in Aikido to begin with. I learned there was a dojo nearby, and i took him there so he could try it out. Both of us have been going ever since. I love the practice, and it has become one of the most important things in my life.

Aikido is really changing so much in how I live my life. It's helping me to build greater stamina, and much greater confidence; to look at people, life, and relationships differently; and to keep centered while moving through life. (probably other things as well, they just don't come to mind at the moment. )

I'll be attending my first aikido seminar in June, and taking my first test in May. I live in the beautiful southwest mountains, and i clean houses and do housesitting, spiritual practices, and studying.

It's great to be reading the opinions and experiences, etc., of so many other Aikido devotees from all over the world. See you 'round. Peace,

Jen.

Re: hello from sunny southwest....

Hello Jennifer,

If, by any chance, the seminar you are attending in June is the one at Albuquerque Aikikai, (since I know a lot of the Taos people are coming) then I look forward to seeing you there. Glad you are enjoying your training!
