Unhappy helpless in Binghamton, NY

I recently moved to Vestal NY, outside Binghamton. I am sad to learn there is no Dojo offering Aikido in the area. I can already feel my center slipping away!

Is there anyone else here in the area that wants to put together a practice group and try to track down a sensei?

Perhaps if enough of us get together we can convince a sensei to come down from Syracuse for a few bucks.

It's a long drive, but Bieri and Katagiri Senseis in Ithaca are excellent. I train with them when I'm on travel to Owego.

Bieri Sensei might also be interested in supporting any group you get together and it would be a shorter drive than Syracuse.

Best Regards,

Last week there was a guy on here dying to practice in Binghamton. His name is Dan Diaz (NewYorkSamurai). You should get in touch with him. Check out these threads:

I have had the good fortune to train with both Katagiri Sensei as well as Bieri Sensei and they are both very good. You would be fortunate to have either of them help you out on this venture. I wish you much luck, and hope that you can have some good training!

Best,

Rachel
