Nearly new hakama for sale (it's too big)
Good evening,
I have a nearly-new indigo-dyed Besu Co. hakama for sale. My instructor ordered it for me but went with a size too large -- it's a 26 and I need a 24. So, consequently, it's built for someone in the 5'8" to 6' range. It would typically run close to $300 but I'm willing to go lower. I've already set the dye and it's ready-to-wear and go!
Best wishes,
Jonathan

Re: Nearly new hakama for sale (it's too big)
Why not just get it hemmed up?

X2 on what Kent has just said. Just have it hemmed up to your perfect size.

Re: Nearly new hakama for sale (it's too big)
Having hemmed a hakama that was too big (ie both length and width)....
As sizes change, so too does the width and length; so though you may chop the length down, the width/girth remains the larger size, and in my case, resulted in a very awkard fitting hakama.
Yes, it works, but only compared to not having a hakama at all.
YMMV.

Re: Nearly new hakama for sale (it's too big)
Hi,
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate your insight. I did have the hakama hemmed and it definitely fits better after the hemming and 30 minutes in a dryer. However, it still is a bit big in the width/girth but at least it's acceptable.
Best wishes,
Jonathan

Re: Nearly new hakama for sale (it's too big)
had it not been hemmed I'd probably be interested.
