Zen Ice Cream

Recent conversations on Aikiweb...

John: "Every time I drop my bread it falls butter side down. So buttered bread always falls buttered side down."

Bob: "You're just imagining it -- the statistics on this sort of thing are actually quite well understood. It actually happens randomly and over time it should land with close to a normal 50/50 distribution of results no matter what your prior (and very limited) experience."

John: "No, you're wrong, I'll prove it -- let me drop my bread."

Plop.

Bob "See, I told you -- it fell butter side up! Look. You can see it yourself. It doesn't always fall butter side down."

John: "No, it always falls butter side down -- I just buttered the wrong side..."

Bob. "Sigh..."

and the ice cream...

If you already have ice cream I will give it to you.

If you don't have any ice cream I will take it away.
