What's the clever way (Looking for 10'x 10' of mat)

and by clever I mean cheap, to get about 10'x 10' of mat?

Here's a place to start... Much less cost than vinyl-covered "tatami" foam judo mats.

You might want to look at Get Rung mats. (avoid the red).

You could try dojos. Some places have extra mats around they wouldn't mind parting with.

Good used mats are hard to find. However most manufacturers have local reps who may have some demo mats that were used for a local meet that they would be willing to sell for a little less - and without any shipping charges.
