Question Okinawa Dojo Search

I just recently moved to Okinawa, and have been trying to locate an Aikido Dojo on the island. Several people have said that they know of one, but haven't known where it was. If anyone has any info, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hi Chris,

If nothing else comes up, you can contact these folks:

http://www.oki-aikikai.com/pages/610068/index.htm

and they will put you in touch with a dojo in Okinawa.

Best regards,

Greg Jennings

Hi Chris,

I've written to a friend that trained in Okinawa. I'll be able to track something down for you.

If I don't myself, I'll get with Goldsbury Sensei and he'll be able to enumerate all the Aikikai-affiliated dojo there.

Good training,

Greg Jennings

Hi Chris,

I couldn't get a good e-mail address for my friend but he saw the thread and e-mailed this to me for you:

--------

Greg,

Hi, saw the request on Aikiweb about Aikido in Okinawa. I am having a great deal of trouble trying to post a reply, working with Jun to iron out the issues, but still no luck so far. Please let him know that he can contact Mr. Ken Klunder at Camp Shield's gym. He teaches a basic Aikido Class there and Ken can take him to the Aikido located off base. I think the email is gurunkun7@hotmail.com, but I need to check my contacts at home.

-----------

HTH,

Greg Jennings

Mike;

Thanks for your reply. I'll get in contact with you asap, and see what we can work out. The Aikido community is one of the things that keeps me coming back for more, even when I'm not in the mood to work out.

Peace,

Chris Owen

Chris,

Timothy Martin of AAA was recently stationed on Okinawa. His e-mail is martinta@firstbb.ne.jp. I believe his classes are on base. Further contact info is available here http://www.aaa-aikido.com/international.htm under Japan. I haven't seen him since 2000 when he was still in Texas, but always enjoyed practicing with him at seminars.

Good luck,

Leslie Parks-Casey

Leslie;

Hey, thanks a lot! I'll start contacting some people next week. This week's pretty busy. But I'll be sure and give him an email.

Thanks,

Chris Owen
