Re: New Moriteru Ueshiba Doshu DVD
For the price, this disc could've benefitted from having more than just 55 minutes of footage.
But then again, this type of content/pricing ratio seems to be the standard in Aikido community.
The disc's video and audio quality is good.
Mr. Moriteru Ueshiba has powerful and graceful Aikido, and what struck me the most about it is just how naturally he moves. He makes it look incredibly easy.
Atemi is not neglected and not overused.
The video goes through "basic techniques" in omote and ura versions, then kneeling and rear versions, as well as "basic exercises" such as forward and backward rolls and various initial stances, it also has a brief demonstration of multiple-attacker application, and things like tenchi-nage and koshinage.
It ends with a brief interview with Mr. Ueshiba, followed by a brief footage from some expo, which shows him and other instructors demonstrate tight, fast, energetic Aikido.
I must admit that I liked this video a lot more than videos of Mr. Kisshomaru Ueshiba.
