Check out this entry in the Image Gallery.
I'd say a one out of ten rating is a pretty strong disapproval!

A difficult problem is easily solved by asking yourself the question, "Just how would the Lone Ranger handle this?"

Everyones an art critic!
Technically, I can't stand the way those pics are drawn. That's the reason for my low rating.

Re: Shodothug Wallpaper
Oh, the irony...
"We don't need no stinkin' hakama...
...but we've got our belts, and our uniforms, and our japanese name, and... and..."
And a tough guy stereotype to enact. Don't forget that. God forbid you forget that.

Tim
It's a sad irony: In U's satori, he forgot every technique he ever knew; since then, generations of doka have spent their whole careers trying to remember.

Disclaimer has already been mentioned but the whole Shodothug label was invented by a non-Shodokan person if memory serves me correctly. It was obvious then as it is now that tongue was firmly planted in cheek and so with every Shodokan persons response.
And we have the belts, uniforms, japanese name and lack of hakama because we see the source of what we do as being in Japan. There is no irony - we get that beaten out of us

Actually I modeled the guy in the hakama - took away the glasses, put on a wig, tied me into a hakama, a bit of artistic license and voila. We could not get a real non-Shodokan Aikidoist to go anywhere near the Shodothug model.

Re: Shodothug Wallpaper
Hey this Shodothug thing is getting out of hand now.
My wife saw the wallpaper and we are right now in the process of designing some screen and embroidery prints for our dojo T-shirts and polos (sort of like a mini clothing line). She said I should ask Hori for permission to borrow part of the design for one of our T-shirt styles. Will think about it a bit, not a bad idea. My last design tagline was "Resistance is Futile!."
Lol soon Shodo-Thug may have to be trademarked.

Go ahead Larry. The only caveat being is that I want one of the finished t-shirts!

Re: Shodothug Wallpaper
Okay so here is the design for you folks to approve.
Nothin too fancy. You may see it in my avatar as well.
May put it on the front or back, you guys decide. Will also have the new Shodokan Trinidad logo on one sleeve and the JAA logo over the heart or vice versa.
Let me know
