Lightbulb jokes
Thought I might start the all-too-predictable bulb thread.
Came up with this one on my own so I don't know anyone else has come up with the same thing.
How many aikidoka does it take to change a light bulb?
None, they'll keep waiting for the lightbulb to do something.

The problem with your joke Brian is that your answer is too good. No one can come up with a better one.

Go ahead, tread on me.

Re: Lightbulb jokes
Bunker dug? Sandbags ready? Good. Y'all have your tomatoes ready to fire? Excellent.
theatrically clears throat

Aikidoka don't change lightbulbs. We lead the old bulbs out of the socket and the new bulb into it, in the spirit of harmony.

Re: Lightbulb jokes
How many aikido sensei does it take to screw in a lightbulb. 1 but he doesn't screw it in, he just holds it in place and lets the world revolve around him.

Re: Lightbulb jokes
You'd need to know the light bulbs lineage before it can be changed
alternatively
it's not the lightbulb that doesn't work, it's your lightbulb that doesn't work, there's no need to change the true lightbulb
or
lightbulbs aren't true budo

How many aikidoka to change a lightbulb?
None, in the true spirit of minimum effort, maximum efficiency, get an electrician to do it!

Re: Lightbulb jokes
500 to discuss whether the lightbulb should be changed.
250 to discuss how you can change the lightbulb while moving from your center while extending ki.
50 to discuss the various etymology of the word "lightbulb."
25 to discuss whether we should use the word "lightbulb" in Japanese or English.
10 to discuss the tradition behind using a lightbulb.
5 to discuss of the ethics of using a lightbulb.
1 to actually change the lightbulb.

Re: Lightbulb jokes
That's not how we change lightbulbs in MY dojo!
|
You'd be surprised at how much aikido philosophy you can pick up on at the end of the party when there's just a couple drunk sempai and you.

And someone to come along and say that lightbulbs are just for show, and that they don't work and say to study Brazilian flash-lights

Re: Lightbulb jokes
Maybe it is not the lightbulb that needs to be changed but your assumptions, Grasshopper.
Use your ki to light it.
