Smile quotes

Hey there everyone, I am curious as to why people end there comments to threads with quotes. Personally, I find many quotes to be repetitious and something one would find on the back of a match book cover. Everyone has the right to add these "words of wisdom" but it seems that they are more a sign of a person's need to come across as some great philosopher. Maybe I over-analyse but how about some original quotes from the actual authors?

I think almost all the repetitious quotes are built into the person's signiture. You just click "Show Signiture" and it comes up with each post. We don't actually retype it. I suppose maybe changing the quote from time to time would be decent. I agree though that they should include the author.

As for a few more quotes.. I'll share a few:

"Be the change you want to see in the world." - Gandhi

"He who lives without discipline dies without honor." - Icelandic Proverb

"He who can't endure the bad won't live to see the good." - Yiddish Proverb

"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." - Anais Nin

and lastly...

"It is better to light a single candle, than to curse the darkness." - Chinese Proverb

-Jase

Jason Hobbs
"As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are. Otherwise you will miss most of your life."

Unfortunately, my signoff is a shortened version of the original, which came from one of the students at our Dojo after seeing my Nidan grading. "Not bad for a fat bloke".
Have fun.
