Sugawara Sensei and Internal Strength

I've been watching videos of Sugawara Sensei and I was taken by the fact that he certainly teaches some valid aspects of I.S. (how much, I don't know until I can get a chance to personally see him, which I plan to do). But given that he uses I.S., I was particularly intrigued by his Kaeshi-waza kata, not to mention his 42-kata which is a blend of Taiji and Aikido.
