If I wasn't impressed, I'd move on .

Is there a difference between impressive and inspiring though?

For instance, when I first started taking TKD many years ago it was impressive to see my Sensei do a flying side kick 6-7 feet off the ground and seemingly stay in the air forever.

However, it was inspiring when he convinced me that with the proper training that I could do the same thing.

Harmony does not mean that there are no conflicts,
for the dynamic spiral of existence embraces both extremes.

very inspired.

If the student is extremely skilled, she gets that level of training. If the student is new, and can't remember technique names during practice tests - and gets mouthy with Sensei - Sensei calmly asks the question again.

Students get exactly what they need with humor and humility where you would expect ego and hubris to be!!

very inspiring, as usual! sensei's energy and dedication to the artform makes me feel dedicated too. there's always so much more to learn, and so many layers of practice--the practice seems to grow more challenging, inspiring, and enriching, the farther you go.
PS i actually voted, "i'm not doing aikido right now"... if that option is on every poll, it'll be very easy to know what to answer--unless i take my computer to the dojo!
