4 question interview with Mary Eastland

Thank you for asking, Dan Richards.

Dan Richards wrote: Mary, we had a nice moment on the mat where you kicked my butt.

Honestly, I think you could kick some more butt in an interview.

How long? 29 years...I am 58 now and started when I was 29.

Rank? 7th dan. I just got promoted at our summer seminar.

Hakama? I love it.

Explanations to non-initiates? Depends on how they ask or start talking about it. Sometimes I have to admit, I do glaze over when Joe Beergut starts telling me how he trained for five minutes when he was 14.

C'mom. I've trained aikido with thousands of people in many countries. Your club has some of the best training I've ever experienced.

Thank you. That is a nice observation. And an important one. It is not just Ron and I that are strong and young for our ages. It is our whole dojo.
How about another four questions. : ) There you go.

I'm still chuckling at "Joe Beergut,".... that's funny...!

I find it interesting that the kanji character for kuzushi illustrates a mountain falling on a house.
