Texas Aikidoka Passes away

Dr. Shell Hillis, 3rd dan Tomiki and 4th dan judo passed away 5/1/07 in Midland TX. Dr. Hillis was a chiropractor and former college professor. He began playing and competing in Judo in the 1990s. He won 1st place in the National U.S. Judo Championship in the Masters Division in 1983. He retired from teaching aikido and judo several years ago.

The dates were from his Obituary. It probably should have read the 80s.

I remember training with Shell many years ago and always enjoyed his company and the training. Condolences to his friends and family.
