Articles on Zen

I've just came across this interesting website:
http://www.intrex.net/chzg/talklist.htm
A pretty reach source of information about Zen and probably even more than that written by different Zen teachers.
Liked it very much, hope some of you will enjoy reading too.

Have to say that I'm not a Zen practitioner, nor I'm a buddhist, therefore it's not an attempt to advertize anything.

Re: Articles on Zen

Here is a part of the article (http://www.intrex.net/chzg/stagesof.htm) I just read:

Quote:
There's a difference between reacting and responding. Reacting is when you lose yourself in the situation and get stuck, or you get pushed off balance by what you face. In responding the situation is completely taken in and there's no polarization for you to get stuck in; you take the space to respond from a deeper level. This is a very important part of how we practice, how we take care of a situation either by reacting or responding. When we are caught in reacting, it's easy to lose our composure and difficult to bring harmony to the situation. In responding, we accept the other side of the situation so that ‘I' and the situation become one. I can respond appropriately from that completeness because I'm not separate from the situation and defensive posturing need not come into play.
Is this Zen or Aikido?

Mr Lynn, you were talking about reacting and responding and to understand your laconic posts I had to read article by a Zen teacher

The conciseness of my response was only to thank you for the resource. No need for the mind to look further.

The Omoto philosphy that inspire O'sensei stressed the harmonizing of dualistic thinking. IMHO, many mystics and masters experienced the same thing but labeled it differently.

Read "Zen and Aikido" by Kamata and Shimizu published by Aiki News 1984. Much better than I can say, especially being so "laconic" in my replies.
