YouTube: Shirakawa Ryuji in Esztergom, Hungary

Here's a video of Ryuji Shirakawa (5th dan) in Esztergom, Hungary.

Born in 1980, Shirakawa started aikido at age 15 under his father Katsutoshi Shirakawa (7th dan) and became uchideshi to Yasuo Kobayashi (8th dan) in 2003.

What are your thoughts on this video?

Interesting to see the Tissier influences!

Re: YouTube: Shirakawa Ryuji in Esztergom, Hungary

I'm only a 2nd kyu, so perhaps I should not state my opinion about higher ranked aikidoka publicly, but here I'm doing it anyway.

It was immediately evident to me that this is the teacher of Mihaly Dobroka who recently posted some videos, requesting comment (I wonder if this is accidental or not).

Some commented that there were some issues with "martialness" and connection in those previous videos.
To me this video displays a similar flowing style of movement, but in my perceptions the teacher has more "spirit" in execution (I couldn't come up with a better word, I'm not a native english speaker).

Overall it looks quite similar to me.
