Yasuo Kobayashi and Fumiko Nakayama on Living Aikido: Part 2

New blog post!

Yasuo Kobayashi and Fumiko Nakayama on Living Aikido: Part 2 - A Roundtable Discussion with the Kodaira Aikido Renmei

Some very interesting insights into early training at the post-war Aikikai Hombu Dojo, and some thoughts from Yasuo Kobayashi and Fumiko Nakayama on how modern ukemi evolved.

Best,

Chris

Great stuff.

It confirms some of the things Kobayashi Sensei used to talk about after early morning training - being the first to actually teach ukemi to beginners, a certain choke hold being his own creation, etc.

I miss training with Kobayashi Sensei.

Warning: Do not bend, fold or otherwise abuse... until we get to the dojo..
