Ueshiba Monogatari

Added a few more scans to "Ueshiba Morihei Monogatari", the manga version of the life of Morihei Ueshiba.

Best,

Chris

Re: Ueshiba Monogatari

Thanks Chris. Their choice of events in Ueshiba's life to depict are interesting. Was the aikikai or Ueshiba family involved in this in any way?

Yes, it was overseen by Moriteru, so as you might guess the versions of events are somewhat from that point of view.

Best,

Chris

If you don't mind, what do the Sokaku Takeda and aikikai opening pages say? The aikikai opening images seem to infer the surprise K.Ueshiba had at his fathers praise. That seems an odd thing to focus on, doesn't it?

The Takeda one says "Sugoi!".

You got the Aikikai one right. This is a story that Kisshomaru used to tell himself, which I guess is why it's in there - maybe a kind of vindication of his efforts post-war?

Best,

Chris
