Jiko Shokai (self intoduction) from Tsubaki America Shrine

Hello everyone, Hajimemashite…. Warm greeting from Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America.

My name is Koichi Barrish and I am the Shinto Priest of Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America…we are the traditional Jinja Shinto Shrine in North America about a one hour drive from Seattle,WA. Tsubaki America Shrine is the US Branch of Tsubaki Grand Shrine in Mie Japan..a shrine with more than 2000 years of history and the Daihonguu (main shrine) of the Guardian Kami of Aikido. Our US Shrine's main work is as the Go-kitoh (special prayer shrine) and we also have a schedule of Aikido Training as well as Misogi Shuho and Chinkon Gyoho. So when I can may I offer the perspective of an American who is also the full-time professional Kannushi (licensed Shinto Priest).

Also may I make this announcement re: SHRINE/AIKIDO INTERNSHIP

Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America is accepting applications for the SHINTO/AIKIDO INTERN. This full time position can be approached as a 3 month to 2 year commitment. The position includes all training, private quarters in shrine guest house and a stipend. Please contact Rev. Barrish (Shrine Priest)
