Koichi Tohei Books?

Hi guys,

I tried to look for the right place to post this, but decided to post here, if its the wrong place could the mods please move it.

Ok, Ive been looking for some Koichi Tohei books, especailly the Koichi How to Develop Ki, meditations and breathing methods, but cant find these in stock anywhere.

Could someone please help me where I can buy these?

Thank you

Re: Koichi Tohei Books?

That booklet series was published in very limited quantities, and are very scarce on the market, bringing often over $100 per volume when and if you can get them. Printed on very flimsy paper and stapled together, they generally have not held up well over time. Frankly, there is not much in them that is not found in much broader coverage in Tohei's later, larger, more mainstream books. Unless you've just got a lot of money and a lot of time, you should probably stick to the mass-market stuff, which in itself is also quite costly.

A footnote: Pre-owned copies of "How to Develop Ki" and "Ki Meditations" are currently available from Budovideos.com at $189.95 each. The "Develop" volume is the revised edition with 20 exercises, instead of the original 12. Budovideos does not currently have the other 3 volumes in the series.

Re: Koichi Tohei Books?

Most of the ki breathing and hygiene can be found in "Kiatsu". Much of the other stuff is in "Ki in Daily Life" and "The Book of Ki". No Tohei shelf would be complete without "Aikido: Coordination of Mind and Body for Self Defense" or "Aikido: The Arts of Self-Defense". The most prolific of Tohei's books was probably his last, "The Way to Union with Ki". This is an incredibly limited edition work, available only through the Ki No Kenkyukai, and very expensive. Follow this link for a bibliography listing of all his books. Click on individual listings for pictures and additional information. Good hunting...

Perhaps you'd like to express that with a tax-deductible donation.

Jus Kiddin, of course. Clark is good when it comes to this stuff.
Happy Reading,
Jen
