Heads up for fat 'do-ka.

You know who you are. You know how hard it is to get gi pants that fit right, especially if you are female. You know how expensive and long in the waiting the custom gi are, as well deserved as that money is for the wonderful humans that make the pants that cover the giant booty. I love you for offering to do that for me, but I just cant afford to make it worth your while.

Here's a link for gi pants up to a size (yes, in the traditional gi sizing method) 12. Yup, 12.

https://www.karatemart.com/super-mid...t-karate-pants

They're cotton/poly, and not the sturdiest material, but they are off the shelf, get here in a couple days, no measurements and fabric decisions required, gi pants. I'm not a big fan of the matching top, because I hate cotton poly sweat slimyness, but I can effectively cover my prodigious, fluffy bum for under 50 bucks. And that's a huge relief.

As a frame of reference, I am 5'6", 275lbs at the moment, 50" hips, and I am finding my size 10 maybe a touch too big. The current training spate is taking a bit off me, so I think my next pair will be a 9.

For guys (and women who dont struggle as much with guy pants) who have money, Gorilla Fight Gear has big folks gi. For almost 200 bucks, when they have them in stock. Just sayin.

In my defense, I'm trying to finish a thesis. Right now, food is love and the dojo is 230 miles away most of the time. Love and appreciete your dojo while you have it, peoples!

Kiyota Company (Baltimore MD) will let you order just pants or tops, so you can mix and match sizes. There is only a small premium for doing this......but I think they stop at size 7.

Oh yeah, I imported a huge gi from karatemart! I got the biggest size just in case but by goodness, the biggest size is much, much, too big! Like a sumo kimono! It worked out great after some tailoring. I like karatemart. I had to use OPAS.COM to ship it to Australia though.
