Weapons Seminar in Houston, Texas

On Sunday, January 28, 2007 from 10:00 am to 4:00 PM ShinKiKan will be giving a weapons seminar covering the basics of the sword, staff and unarming techniques.

The instructor will be Erik Calderon, 4th dan.

All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the seminar.

The seminar will consist of the following:

Aiki-Ken - The Sword of Aikido
How The Sword integrates into everyday Aikido
Basic Principles of the Sword


Aiki-Jo - The Staff of Aikido
How the Jo integrates into everyday Aikido
Basic Principles of the Staff


Go-Kyo
Unarming Techniques against the Bokuto, Jo and Tanken

The primary focus of this seminar is to gain knowledge, both physical and mental, on how the weapons work, the purpose of using weapons in everyday training, and how this weapons training integrates with the principles of Aikido.

Seminar Fees are as follows:

Current ShinKiKan members: $75.00

Non-Members: $150.00
