Re: This is karate:d
That skit reminds me of teachers who really do say "you attacked me wrong." Like in a real situation you can say "wait Mr. Bad Guy I don't mind if you attack me but please do it like this..."

Re: This is karate:d
It's not a bad habit.
It depends on the circumstances and on what you're trying to achieve.
If you're trying to demonstrate to a newcomer that the art _works_, then using the "you attacked wrong" line is laughable.
If you are however trying to learn a specific movement to defend from a specific attack (which is just a subset of other movements and other attacks), and your uke starts giving you incorrect attacks which either confuse you if you are new, or force you to switch techniques (which in turn means youre not learning the specific attack/technique combo you were supposed to be learning), then yes indeed there is such a thing as "attacking wrong".

They're all screaming about the rock n roll, but I would say that it's getting old. - REFUSED.

Reminds me of a story about my daughter I heard from one of her friends. They went to take some quicky self-defense classes from some guy (my daughter didn't want to be Sensei's girl in my classes any more). They guy was real rough on the women and slapped them around a bit. I heard my daughter and her friend left after Yuriko atemied the guy with her foot to his gonads before doing an iriminage that lifted him off his feet and spun him around to land on his face.
Wish I was there to see it.

Re: This is karate:d
There was another one where a karateka was breaking a board which came up and hit him in the head and he staggered around like the guy doing the back flip.

I don't think that there is a limit to the amount of times I could watch the "afro-ninja", and not laugh hysterically.

"Now come at me. Scream! Good, now come on!"
*guy runs at Cleese, Cleese shoots guy*
"Now... I eat the banana."
Monty Python is great. Jim Carrey is fantastic. My favourite bit aside from his entrance ("Ki-aaaaaaaaaaaaaai!!!!!!" is "I am Bob Jackson" *snap kick* So subtle, hehe. "I've been doing martial arts for 20 years!" *snaps belt*
Afro ninja is currently loading....
Oh dear god... why would you keep a video like that *cracks up like Yoda on marijuana*

Re: This is karate:d
It makes me think of a mixture of Rex Kwon Do in Napoleon Dynamite and the Black Knight vs. King Arthur scene in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail...
