Aikido cartoons

I don't think there has been a thread with cartoons yet. i propose that we post our favourite ones here. I found these on a site of a Ukranian Aikido association, I am not sure about their origins.

Taras:
I enjoyed the cartoons - they can relate to aikido. I have been trying to attach some that I have but can't seem to get anything attached- can you tell me how to do it?

Aleskey: Mine might be another martial art too. Use your imagination.

e ya later
Jill.

Re: Aikido cartoons

Jill,

You have to use the real ‘Post Reply' button rather than the quick reply at the bottom of the page.

Once you in there click the ‘Manage Attachments' button, ‘Browse' to the files you want to upload, and click the ‘Upload' button. You can repeat this process until you have all the files you want in the ‘Current Attachments' section.
Once you have all the files, click the ‘Close this Window' button.

Finish your reply and click ‘Submit Reply'.

Not to mention Bob and Doug MacKenzie...

'Sides, aikidoka drinking Bud? I thought Canadians, of all people, had better taste than that.

Re: Aikido cartoons

ha ha - ya you got me there (with the bud remark). No self-respecting Canadian would drink American beer...unless it was free...and even then we wouldn't actually like it - but we'd probably drink it

The line just fit my silly 2 second beer-toon.

Thumbs down Re: Aikido cartoons

Hi folks,

The main man for aikido cartoons is an all round nice guy and infrequent aikiweb poster. Very funny, highly recommended:

Re: Aikido cartoons

If you want to cut straight to the aikido movie, it's here:
http://www.fudebakudo.com/en/movie_aikido.html
(requires Flash -- and advert disclaimer: keep your mouse off the movie itself or else the marketing department try to brainwash you with the logo, sorry).

Credit where credit is due -- the animator isn't me, but a very talented friend called Rene -- he doesn't do aikido, but when I specced this one out for him, as well as miming it all, I put X, Y, and Z hints on the sketches I did for him. As you can see he thought they were funny/bizarre enough that he put them into the final cut If you scrunch your eyes up, you can see shihonage, sankyo, and kotegaeshi being applied (in that order), which correspond (roughly) to ukemi around the z, y, and x axes.

And you thought we just threw these cartoons together...

Aikido FAQ has a little collection, including the two initially mentioned.
