Aikido in MMA ;-) (YouTube)

Don't worry I am not going to start another one of those threads, I did however come across this by accident and thought it may interest some? Its a video of Rik Ellis showing how he has adapted some of his Aikido training to actually use in MMA.

So there you go people Aikido CAN be used in MMA

Re: Aikido in MMA ;-)

Viewing this website and seeing MMA videos of Rik Ellis and his son and learning of "traditional" aikido teaching that Henry Ellis does has helped be to decide to fully investigate aikido.

Would the Ellis' schools of aikido be considered as Iwama aiki-budo?

I think Henry will be along sooner or later but I very much doubt he'd consider his Aikido to be Iwama anything!

Best Regards,
John

I've heard from Iwama style as the aikido branch from Saito Morihori and from Aikibudo (Yoseikan) as an earlier branch from Mochizuki Minoru. Do you mean one of these or do you mean something else?
