"Death by Degrees" PS2 Game & Aikido
Hopefully this is the correct forum for this question.
I don't believe anyone has posted about this yet, so here goes...I'm curious if anyone has played this and if so what they thought of it...the main character is Nina Williams (from the Tekken series of games), who uses Aikido --- I'm interested in finding out if they have given her the capability of using more techniques in this new game.
Otherwise, I'm going to just have to give in and rent it already just to satisfy my curiousity.
Thanks in advance!

Re: "Death by Degrees" PS2 Game & Aikido
I got this from a website. "An Irish Assassination Martial Artist who borrows concepts from Aikido and Bone Martial Arts." Bone Martial Arts means bone breaking. My magazine gave it a really bad review. I can believe it. Characters who use Aiki in video games usually suck. Like Aoi from Virtua Fighter she uses Aiki-jujutsu and she totally sucks. Don't be so cheap just rent the game and see what it is like. You might like it.

Re: "Death by Degrees" PS2 Game & Aikido
I would not trust any game that says that a character uses Aikido. Most of the time they are just trying to give the person a cool sounding martial arts. It would be harder to play a game with Aikido cause it would be waiting for the other people to attack and then do the proper button combination to counter it. The game character is probably going to be doing mostly punching and kicking, and little to no Aikido. I have never played the game so I don't know for sure, but that is probably what is going to happen.

Re: "Death by Degrees" PS2 Game & Aikido
In the newest Mortal Kombat, (Deadly Alliance) there was a character named "Kano" who did "Aikido." However, that game kind of sucked, and so did the character. It was all lame sacrifice throws and maybe an iriminage-esque thing, but generally pretty lame Aikido.
Kano. According to Wikipedia: "Kano is one of the incarnations of evil."

You can view the trailer at http://deathbydegrees.namco.com/
It looks just like a regular beat-em-up game, no aikido anywhere, even the sword work is rubbish

Re: "Death by Degrees" PS2 Game & Aikido
From what I've heard from multiple sources, Death by Degrees is a disaster; I don't know haow accurate the Aikido in there is, but I've heard from multiple video games mags that the ga me is just plain not good (and that's putting it nicely). You may want to check Gamespy.com or Gamespot.com for their reviews as well.
