After many hours of late night (and early morning!) coding sessions, AikiWeb is very pleased to release version 2.0 of the <A
HREF="http://www.aikiweb.com/search">AikiWeb Dojo Search Engine</A>.
This new version contains some great new features including:
  • Radius searches: find dojo within a certain number of miles/kilometers of a city (US only)
  • Automatic suggestions for misspelled city names (US only)
  • Palm OS dojo import: add dojo information to your Palm PDA addressbook
  • Improved dojo submission, modification, and deletion procedures
  • Javascript form validation and checking
  • Faster back-end (SQL engine)
  • Streamlined administrative functions for faster turn-around time for dojo submissions and modifications
The new search engine has been betatested by many people (thank you -- you know who you are), but please be sure to let me know if you find any bugs or if you have any feature requests. Enjoy!

Hi everyone,

Have people here been able to test out the new Dojo Search Engine with its expanded set of features? Any feedback?

I really like the radius feature. There are a lot of dojo around me that I wouldn't have otherwise considered. I am actually closer to some of the dojo in New York than in Connecticut, which is nice to know.

Hi Jun,

The new search engine is very well. I can see that our dojo was already registered (unlucky, I don't see it before to perform another registration of our dojo, but I delete the old registration where information was obsolete).

Maybe a small suggestion. Another criterion as the departement number (for France) (I don't know very well how others countries are divided) could be very useful. It could be allow people living in small town with any dojo to found one near their.

The search according to the country provides a lot of response and conversely the search by town provides often no response.

Bye and thanks very much for your great job.

Bye

Chris
