Go look over on http://www.aikidofaq.com/ and check out the clips there. There is at least one there that is almost as bad.

I have to ask the question - does the kid think he looks good or is he taking the piss of himself. The little kicks are priceless.

I can see him making it on broadway with those moves. Him and wacko jacko would make a great dancing couple.

Is it my imagination, or is he using a golf-ball scoop?

(Actually; I shouldn't laugh - I use a camera monopod from time to time. )

Ahhh - let's give him a break - he's just a kid playing around; at least he's having fun....

I thought it was a curtain rail or something. Nice noises!

Good job he managed to avoid hitting the camera, he came close a few times.

Hehehe...I'm surprised he didn't break the camera.

Update on Star Wars Kid

Hi guys!

Well; this thread has been dead for months; but I thought I'd ressurect it for a second to offer an update.

The SW Kid's name is Ghyslain; a 15-year-old from Quebec. As expected; he made the video for his own amusement; it was not intended for upload to the Internet. He's one of those kids that have confidence issues; and when his 'friends' uploaded the thing on him; it certainly didn't help.

The 'Star Wars Kid' has become one of the most popular downloaded videos on the Internet; so much so that there has - along with the predictable derisiveness (as we ourselves have shown - it is pretty funny, after all) - been a huge upsurge of support once people became aware the exposure was unintentional. Someone set up a donation site to buy him a new computer; for instance - they raised over $5000 Canadian for him. There has also been a huge petition to Lucasfilm to give him a cameo in SW III; and reports indicate it's actually being considered.

LOL - just to show ya what one silly video can do!

(BTW - not surprisingly; the parents are sueing. Who; I dunno.)

Answers are only easy when they're incomplete.

He is also sueing the kids who did the business in the first place. Apparently the tape was lifted.

I kind of hope he gets something for all the trouble.

Me, too.

I first learned of it from a forward message telling me how hysterical it was. When I DL'd it, I couldn't understand what was funny, couldn't see past the fact that someone had maliciously posted this for what would become endless torment for the kid.

Very few comments I've seen on the thing have metioned how cruel it was of his peers to post this, and brutally cruel it was, too. Even though all of us have done something similar at one time or another, we probably didn't get caught, and when we did, it wasn't on an international communication medium and didn't get broadcast on coast to coast news.

I hope he wins big enough to make it onto the news again and scare the BVD's chocolate of any other miscreants who may be thinking of doing something similar.

I think this kid looks like a diamond in the rough. With a good coach, he could become a decent wushu competitor.

I just read the article that Richie posted. I feel sorry for the kid. It's tough enough going through high school, let alone be a point of mockery for the entire world.

If you visit the jedimaster.net site please sign the petition to get this kid onto Star Wars 3. For all the pain that he gets for having his "friends" lift and post it he really does deserve something. He did have to get some psychiatric help for all the problems he encountered afterward.

I couldn't tell, but do the T-shirt proceeds go to the Star Wars Kid, or does he not even see a cent that they make off of this exploitation?
