Question Just a question about uniform

While I was training in Japan, some students and sensei's were wearing little slippers on the mat. However I didnt get a chance to ask where to buy them or information about them. I've also seen footage with O'sensei wearing them and other Aikidoka, just wondering where I could buy them? and do people on this forum wear them for training? Any information please!

Thank you!

cheers all!

Re: Just a question about uniform

Todd, were they cotton tabi (socks like mittens, with a big toe and then the rest of the foot, so they can be worn w/ zori)? If tabi is what you want:
http://www.budogu.com for traditional
or for fun ones http://www.cooleastmarket.com/tabi.html
or you can make your own with a pattern from http://www.round-earth.com/

Re: Just a question about uniform

I usually get them from the House of Rice. It's the best price I've found on the net. Just be sure to follow there measuring instructions exactly.

Re: Just a question about uniform

I wore one when I contracted some veruccas. Bronson is right about checking the measurements, I wear my size which was the largest size that was available to me and the big toe fitting was still very uncomfortable, hence the reason I only wore one on the problem foot. they take a bit of getting used to as the foot doesn't gide across the mat the same as bare feet.

A difficult problem is easily solved by asking yourself the question, "Just how would the Lone Ranger handle this?"
