Attn: Atlanta, GA- You're getting a great sensei
You Aikidoka in Atlanta, GA are very lucky- Kit Hathaway Sensei is moving to your area this month (June, 2007). A Nidan-ranked instructor, she's also a professional yoga instructor and a great workshop organizer.
If you're looking to put more art in your martial art, go check out what this tiny woman can do with a 300 pound uke and sign up for her classes.
No doubt, she'll be opening Atlanta Meishinkan (Yoshinkan) dojo shortly and that means a stream of 7th Dan (and higher) heavyweights, like Chida, Mustard and Jeannette Senseis will be traveling to train in your area throughout the year.
Those of us in Bloomington, Illinois will miss her greatly and remain in gratitude for years of excellent instruction. Osu, Sensei!

Atlanta is doubly lucky if they have you now, too, Lynn. You and Kit will be the very spirits of Yin and Yang, once you get your Yoshinkan/Aikikai worked out. Look out, everybody- Georgia's becoming the new Canada!

Good luck to Kit. Though I've never met her, Parker Sensei has always had good things to say about her when she would attend clinics that he was teaching.
Who is taking over the dojo? I would like to upodate my dojo directory.
Thanks

Re: Attn: Atlanta, GA- You're getting a great sensei
When I lived in Atlanta I trained at the Emory Aikikai and the Roswell Budokan among others. The Roswell Budokan was a great place to train. Paul and David were always very welcoming.

Yep, they both still are.
Always a great welcome and workout.
The ATL is lucky to have them.

Osu, Sensei. Kit is a supreme technician. You never feel any strength from her waza- you just fly! Parker Sensei isn't known for handing out undue compliments, so that's a heck of an endorsement.
Paul Huber Sensei is now dojocho under Kevin Bradley> Jim Jeannette/Robert Mustard> Tsutomu Chida. He's an extremely capable teacher and Aikidoka. We have a very solid core here, so it'll be interesting to see the path our dojo will take. My prediction: Very Yoshinkan.

Ahh, another Emory Aikikai alumni. The world is small indeed.
I still remember you telling me "Just because I don't tap, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt."
Bill: Maybe the new Canada, just with a lot less guns.
Seemed when I was living there every day, almost, a few people were getting shot...including the newly elected Sherrif on election night. Dang. My wife took a few stitchs to the chin after getting mugged at 7am in our driveway, around the corner from the police station.
Still, I miss Atlanta....

Are you training with Paul Domanski. If so, tell him hi for me. He used to be a student of mine in Memphis TN.

Hmmm, sounds like some would-be assailants will be very surprised if they misjudge certain Atlanta citizens this year.

Re: Attn: Atlanta, GA- You're getting a great sensei
Thanks for the compliment. Paul's a good guy. He trained under Gary Chase and me at Memphis Aikikai-got his shodan under us and then nidan under Gary-I had moved off to Texas. My influence was only for about 2 1/2 to 3 years so I don't know how much of an impact I had. He was dedicated and consistent.
