Leather Bokuto Tsuba???

I am curious if anyone has ordered the "Top Quality Leather Bokuto Tsuba (Double Layer)" from E-Bogu. I just bought one, hoping to replace the plastic one that came with my bokken when I purchased it.

When I received it, it was manufactured from what I can only guess is acrylic. It is translucent to the point that I can see my hand behind it when holding it. I can't quite believe that there is any leather involved in manufacturing this thing.

Has anyone purchased and used this item with luck? I am hoping to use it for SMR Jo. While I know the tsuba doesn't offer a great deal of protection, I also don't want to explode acrylic all over the dojo floor if it gets hit with a jo at high speed.

Let me know if you've had any luck with this item, or know much about it in general. Thanks.

Matt

Matt, I have a traditional water buffalo leather tsuba that you can have. I'll bring it tonight.
