What's the most important thing you've learned...
...either about yourself, or life, from training in Aikido?
Looking forward to hearing all your words of wisdom!

You're probably right, Kelly...though I'm hoping you guys won't mind a repeat performance for us newbies.

in no particular order:
compassion
tolerance of others views
individual responsibility (my life, good or bad, is my doing)
That's all for now. I'm sure I'll have a bunch more in a week or so

How to tie my belt in the proper way
.... oh and I'm getting a wee bit better at keeping my mouth shut, and keeping focus on what need to be done.

well, there's a lot of things: Humility, selflessness, cooperation, goal orientation, the desire for hard work, connectedness, body awareness, balance, timing, LOTS of empathy, confidence, and last but certainly not least; spirituality and open-mindedness. Of course, these are all works in progress, and there's a lot that I'm sure I didn't list or that I'm not aware of yet. I think out of all that, maybe Empathy is the most important, as it covers so many of the other things. Suffice it to say that it's not all physical, though some is. I hope that you see some things on that list that look good to you, but ultimately you decide what you want to take home at the end of the day.
