Aikido community in the Middle East (guidance needed)

Hi everyone,

I am curious if anyone has a sense of what the Aikido community in the Middle East is like- particularly in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Oman, and the U.A.E.

It is my sincere hope to partner with a dojo that is active in youth and community work in one or more of these countries and spend a year helping with programs and development, most likely as a volunteer.

Does anyone have any websites, contacts or leads for a project like this? I have used the dojo search function for this website (which is fantastic!) but haven't had much luck. I plan to contact these senseis individually, but thought I would also ask the the general community.

Thank you greatly for any help you can provide,

Zach

Hey Jen!

Thanks for the info- I do have an email out to AE staff. I am really hopeful to connect with them.

If anyone outside of AE has a community minded dojo in the Middle East I would love to hear from you!

Thanks again,

Zach

I do not know of any group myself, but perhaps, someone from this organization:
http://www.budoforpeace.org

Would be able to give you informaiton on Dojos in Arab countries too and not just in Israel (I heard they had some seminars of this nature).

Good luck and Bravo for the initiative
Amir

Thank you Amir and Jen- I really appreciate the Budo for Peace website, they are doing amazing work.

I will ask Neil for his input when I have a definite proposal lined up.

Thank you both!
