Cool Hello, new to Aikido, 3mths really enjoying it

Hi,

My name is James, I'am 28 and live in Middlesbrough , UK. I started Aikido with Sensei Paul Milburn 3ths ago, and I'm really enjoying it, in all ways Physical, Mental and Spiritual. I think I'll be doing my first grading at the end of April. So I thought I'd join this group to share my insight, and to get the help of others , Thanks in advance.

James

Hi!

Testing dates are a great opportunity, especially if a lot of people will be testing, to see the whole progression of your art from beginner upwards. I was totally psyched after my first tests because I'd been able to see what was ahead of me--it ranged from "I think I can do that" to "Won't it be cool if I can learn to do that?" to "Holy ***, look at that!"

If you go with the intention of having fun and learning, you'll also feel less nervous, at least I do....
