This isn't haiku, but I still like it.

The water is a mirror,
I cannot see the bottom,
Yet, I feel ashamed,
For the bottom can see me clearly

Perhaps someone a bit more reflective could tie this into our training?

Here's another one I remembered:

"Though it does not mindfully keep guard,
The scarecrow, standing in the fields,
does not stand in vain."

If I recall correctly, that was written by Takuan Soho.
