The things kids say

Ok, To let everyone know our class in the YMCA which means we get a lot of attention from people passing the window (not a bad thing). To day I was taking a water break after doing randori. Someone else was doing randori at the time and a kid (about 5 years old) walks up to the windows and says:

"Mommy, Mommy Look they're rolling around like dogs." I couldn't help but laugh at the image. Any of ya'll heard any interesting comments?

Robert.

No, but yours does fit in with folks who, when I mention aikido, say, "Isn't that them big Japanese dogs?" !

LOL! Once I was going to Aikido, and I met my boyfriend on the way, dressed all in black - t-shirt, overall, sneakers... - (exepting for his pants, he was wearing his Aikido pants) and his brother was wearing his kimono, so he was dressed all in white.... And a 2 little girls walked passed, hid behind their mothers skirt and.... "Mamãe, eu tô com medooo!!!!!" LOL Ok, it was something like this "Mommy! I'm scared!!!!" When they told me I was like laughing my head off. I told them it was the Black/white contrast "The difference between the good & the evil"... LOL! But apparently it's happend once more.... A different little girl this time, and his brother wasn't with him... All I could do was laugh!!! LOL!

Re: The things kids say

This comment wasn't from a kid it was from a mate of mine. He does Judo and the judo club and the aikido club share the same dojo. The judokas train after us on one of the weeknights.
This mate of mine had turned up a little early for judo class so was watching us.
Afterwards he said,
"I can't tell which person is the attacker and who is defending, all I see is people rolling about everywhere."

"flows like water, reflects like a mirror, and responds like an echo." Chaung-tse

I train at the Y, also. We get alot of kids asking their mothers if they can also get some of those really cool looking "pajamas".
