Do you have any news on who were promoted to 7th, 8th and 9th Dans last night by the Aikikai?

Thanks!

Re: Kagami Biraki Promotions 2012

I don't have any news, but it's worth keeping an eye on the Aikikai Hombu website http://www.aikikai.or.jp/eng/index.htm . Last year the online announcement was posted two or three days after Kagami-Biraki.

Congratulations to Suzuki-sensei and Takahashi-sensei. I see that they still haven't posted a complete list of promotions on the honbu website though. Does anyone have any more information?
Just came out:

I'm not personally familiar with any of these sensei's and I hope I have their names right, because name readings are particularly tricky. Anyway, here they are:

Hari Sunao
Shimada Goro
Arai Toshiyuki
Shigeta Shinji

I used http://nihongo.j-talk.com/kanji/ to convert from Kanji to Romanji (latin alphabet).
I got the names of the following senseis:
Shimada Gorou
Hari su Nao
Toshiyuki Arai
Shinji Shibata

Indeed, best regards to Peter Goldsbury. Also best wishes for the promotions of 4 Israeli teachers to 5th dan:
* Amir Graf
* Ze'ev Erlich
* Daniel Herman
* Amnon Tzechovoy

My sensei, Kazuo Nomura, was promoted to 7 dan, and notice Peter Goldsbury was too! Congratulations!
My sensei hadn't been promoted in 30 years so we are all really excited.

Ha! I thought I had already seen you described as 5th Dan in various places, so I was surprised to see your name on the list...

Why are there only a handful of promotions to shodan while half the Aikidoka on earth apparently have been promoted to godan?
My understanding is that Kagami Biraki is usually just for recommended promotions. Since most Shodan is by examination it always seems a little lopsided
