Meditations of the doka

Hi PPL,

had an idea, hope its relevant to practice in the dojo : we could take the doka of the day and come up with what we think O sensei was trying to teach his students in relation to technique. I'll start first : I feel that today's doka is speaking about decisiveness in a situation where you need to use Aikido in a situation. Maybe Omote. Close the distance between you and the opponent quickly blending with him. Then, strike (perform the technique) ,quickly or decisively. I sound like some omoto kyo priest . Don't know about the heavens part though

Stand with the "First-moving Sword" held in the heavens.
Close quickly and release your strike,
Cutting diagonally.

- Morihei Ueshiba
