Just an old dog learning new tricks.

Thanks for letting me join the group. From around 3-4 years old until the age of about 20, I had trained in boxing, Taekwondo, Karate and, Jeet Kune Do. After a 20+ year hiatus, at the ripe old age of 41, I began learning Aikido (Yoshinkan). This all began last September and I just earned my 8th Kyu (Yellow Belt) on December 22nd. It has taken a lot to accept that I needed to be a clean slate; that what I had learned in my youth was not applicable. I had to check my male ego at the door and that has been a great learning experience for me. I've caught the Aikido bug and can't get enough. I'm also excited to have this great community available to draw knowledge and experiences from. Cheers!
