Tarik, as a student who has been consciously working on her ukemi for years and years, and who still thinks it's pretty awful some days, what you've written really resonates for me. Many thanks.

Bravo!!

You took the thoughts from my brain. Which I appreciate as I lack the ability to get them to my fingers

IMO, "Uke is never wrong" simply means Nage should not blame the uke when his/her technique sucks. Nonetheless, a good article indeed.

Being a good Uke is one of the hardest things in Aikido. Learning to be a good Uke teaches us a lot about intention on the one hand, and softness on the other.

Re: Article: Uke is Never Wrong? by "The Grindstone"

I think that where people get into confusion is that they confuse the idea of "Uke is never wrong" with the idea of "The enemy is never wrong." That is an important distinction. This article is a good reminder of why the first statement is incorrect, due to the conventions of training that guide the uke-nage relationship in order for learning to have a chance to occur.

Certainly a nage/tori/shite should take responsibility for their technique, yet where does one draw the line in a 'cooperative' training environment?

Lots of room for misunderstanding there; without the dialog to explicate the training contract.
