Thank you Chris. This news is sad, but not unexpected. I will have to contact my teacher in Japan with commiserations.

Re: Masatake Fujita Passes Away
very sad news. I have very fond memories of Fujita-san both on and off the mat. A larger than life charchter whose contribution to Aikido was often underestimated I think.
My condolences to his family

Re: Masatake Fujita Passes Away
Funny how a man I never got to meet (though I tried!) so affected my life. I can't begin to recall how many hours of personal home videos I watched of this man teaching all my main teachers. I was always impressed by the positive mood he appeared to be in, and the enjoyment he had interacting with others. This is hitting very, very hard. R.I.P. Sensei.

Re: Masatake Fujita Passes Away
R.I.P! I had the privilege of learning from Fujita sensei a few times over the years when he visited Westminster Aikikai where I used to train. He was a great instructor and very personable. He would always focusing on basics, nice slow deliberate movements. My deepest condolences to his family and students.

Re: Masatake Fujita Passes Away
Sad news... I had the opportunity to train with him a couple of times on his trips stateside. He was always likeable and devoted much time to beginners, always stressing the importance of fundamentals. RIP, Sensei...
