Happy Birthday Shuurin

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Shuurin!
Happy Birthday to you!

One year ago today Shuurin Dojo in Omaha, Nebraska had it's first official class. The first kid's class was my two kids plus another. The adults class was a bunch of friends from another dojo and a few students of my own. For the first several weeks and months classes were small but fun. Often times it was just me and another student. I was very happy to have my own place to train and teach. For the first several months I was wondering if anyone else would walk in the door. A year later we have a strong group of adult students and a good size kid's class. In addition to Aikido we have done dozens of Women's Self Defense and kid's Anti-Bully classes, joined with other charity organizations and community programs. Looking back to last year a lot has changed. The past year has been amazing and I thank all my friends, family and students. We are looking forward to many years of doing what we love. Thank you all.

Victims, aren't we all.

Re: Happy Birthday Shuurin

Congratulations Lloyd (and club)!

See you next time Kubo Sensei comes to Calgary, or maybe I can make it down next time the Nebraska folks bring him out.

Happy birthday, Shuurin! It's always a pleasure to practice with members from your dojo.
