Very interesting, thanks!

The pragmatist in me wonders how they'd do in a fight though. Or heck, even hitting a heavy bag with some of those strikes.

From what I've read in Bruce Lee biographies regarding Hong Kong around this period, these guys may have tested this stuff in fights all the time. In the HK of Lee's youth, fights between people of different schools were common. I recall mention that a common 'test' was to lock two guys in a hotel room together... Also, the strategy behind some of these arts is not necessarily to strike hard, but to gain the advantage and not let up, doing a whole barrage of things to the opponent.
