thought it was time i dove back into the aiki world, in spirit if not body. background: i came from a goshin ryu karate background and started aikido back in '76 at oberlin college with frank hreha sensei and received my shodan from saotome sensei while still at oberlin. since then i've always done aikido (up until 4 years ago anyway - but that's another story- well, o.k., if you insist - 2 kids and soccer and scouts and playing in a band, etc. etc. meant that something needed a rest for a bit and so, for now, i'm not practicing) though not always, and, in fact, usually not, with a USA club. lots of great folks out there who were willing to let me come and play for extended periods of time. i've always been readily accepted at just about every dojo i've ever visited. probably because i'm so pathetic no one ever thought of me as a threat.
i'm a trial attorney these days and an aiki approach is fundamental to the way i practice law. well, that's a quick synopsis. can't wait to get into the habit of checking the forum every day to keep up with the aiki world.
