065) The New Year: Week of January 17, 2010

The third anniversary party was a wonderful day.  It was a good sign of how our dojo community continues to grow in all of the right ways.  I will be taking all of the food that people have donated to the local food bank this week.  Imaizumi Sensei was happy to spend time with us and glad to see our dojo continue to grow.
We have a wonderful seminar series scheduled for this year.  This following weekend, we start the Woman Warrior Series ™ with a self-defense course.  George Ledyard Sensei will be conducting his four-day randori & weapons intensive on March 12.  Kaizen Taki will be conducting an Ukemi seminar (Systema perspective) on April 17 & 18.  Ushiro Sensei will be returning on May 15 & 16 and again on October 23 & 24.
We began to take a close look at the important movements within particular classes of techniques.  We will spend the next couple of weeks continuing to take a much closer look at the necessary movements within our techniques.  Additionally, one night a week will be dedicated to weapons work.
I am looking forward to a great year of training together!
Marc Abrams Sensei
